July Beer Dinner--Southaven

This month we had our biggest Beer Dinner turn out ever. 56 guests joined us to try beers from the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner Texas. The menu was wonderful and accented by rich and spicy Southwest flavors.

Guests started with Shrimp Cocktail and Texas Caviar served with Blue Corn Chips. The Shiner Blonde served with this course was light, but was nicely balanced with the spice from the fresh Jalapenos in the Caviar.

Next we served baked Sweet Red Bell Peppers stuffed with Hickory Smoked Chicken and Cream Cheese and wrapped in Applewood Bacon. Josh used the Shiner Hefeweizen as a base for the Hefeweizen-Orange Glaze that accompanied the Stuffed Peppers.

The classic Shiner Bock was served with a Bock-Braised Pork Loin served with Baked Apples and Cheddar Cheese Mashed Potatoes.

We finished with the Shiner Black Bohemian Lager. This rich and dark beer was paired with an equally dark and rick Sticky Toffee Pudding served ala mode. The flavors were delicious and the pairing was a perfect ending to a fulfilling dinner.

Our next Beer Dinner will be held on August 20th where we will feature four selections from the Rouge Brewery in Oregon. Reservations are required, please call 662.890.2467.
